Our Team

Francesca McDonnell, Psychotherapist

Francesca McDonnell is a BACP registered psychodynamic psychotherapist. Her focus is on the present dynamics in the therapeutic relationship and how the past may have contributed to your way of being. Her style of working tends not to be prescriptive, steering away from simplified explanations of your experience. The aim is to build a trusting and safe relationship where a more complete picture of yourself becomes clear and accessible.

In addition to private practice, she is a counsellor at Winchester Youth Counselling. Previously, she worked at a London university where she gained valuable experience working with young adults. She has also written for the BACP’s University & College Counselling journal. Earlier in her career, she worked as a mentor for a charity supporting women and girls. She is continuing her professional development by undertaking additional training to work with adolescents aged 11 and above.

Francesca offers up to three assessment sessions where you can decide whether to work together. Please email directly to book a brief introductory call and ask any questions you may have about this process.
