Megan Hill, Psychotherapist
Psychotherapy in Winchester
I offer psychodynamic psychotherapy for adults in Winchester, providing a confidential space to explore difficulties, understand yourself more deeply, and consider possibilities for change. I am registered with both the BPC and BACP.
It can feel unsettling to find yourself repeating familiar patterns in relationships, feeling disconnected from yourself or others, or struggling with emotions that are difficult to understand. You may be experiencing anxiety, depression, loss, or a sense that something in your life feels unresolved.
My approach
I offer thoughtful and confidential therapy where we can explore these experiences in depth. Working psychodynamically, we consider how past experiences, relationships and aspects of ourselves that may not always be fully understood can continue to influence how we feel and relate to others.
The therapeutic relationship is central to this work. Over time, the relationship between therapist and client can become a place where patterns of relating, expectations and ways of understanding yourself and others can be explored as they emerge.
Through developing a deeper understanding of these patterns, it becomes possible to relate differently to yourself, your emotions and your relationships, creating the possibility for change.
Clinical experience
I have many years’ experience working clinically with adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and relational difficulties across psycho-oncology, hospice and higher education settings.
These roles have deepened my understanding of trauma, loss, illness, life transitions and the complexities of emotional experience. They continue to inform my work as a psychotherapist and my capacity to work alongside people facing uncertainty, change and emotional pain.
Sessions
I offer weekly 50-minute sessions on an open-ended basis, allowing the therapy to develop over time. Where appropriate, shorter-term work can also be considered.
Before arranging a first appointment, I offer an initial brief telephone conversation. This provides an opportunity to discuss what has brought you to therapy, ask any questions you may have, and consider whether you would like to arrange an initial consultation. The initial consultations provide time for us to think together about what you are looking for from therapy and whether we feel the work would be a good fit.
Areas of work
I work with adults experiencing a range of concerns, including:
anxiety
depression
trauma
bereavement and loss
life transitions

I offer sessions in person from my practice in Winchester and online across the UK.
Training and professional registrations

I am an accredited psychotherapist with the BACP and a registered psychodynamic counsellor with the BPC. I continue my professional development through further training at the Institute of Psychoanalysis.
